The Kiss of Death(1915)

Edgar Doran has lived all his life on his old, gloomy ancestral farm deep in the forest. On a visit to the big city, he meets – among an extravagant company of artists – the eccentric, beautiful Vera, who enchants him at first sight. Edgar’s strong feelings are reciprocated, the couple get married and move into his forest home together. However, Edgar’s long-time friend is very sceptical of the new mistress of the farm and is the first to sow a seed of suspicion against the mysterious Vera in Edgar’s sombre mind.
