Hy Zaret (1907–2007) was an American lyricist and songwriter best known for his contributions to the music industry during the mid-20th century. He gained widespread recognition for penning the lyrics to one of the most iconic songs of all time, "Unchained Melody," which he co-wrote with Alex North in 1955.
